Beachwear Etiquette

Believe it or not there is an unspoken etiquette about what to wear and not to wear on the beach. The beach is one place where you are probably not going to try to impress anyone or pick someone up. People go to the beach to have fun and get a suntan. Though the beach you are going to go to is a most likely a public beach, it is important to be mindful of others on the beach. This is where beachwear etiquette comes in handy.

First and most importantly, make sure that your bathing suit covers all of the necessary parts. It is ok to wear a bikini but make sure that it covers up the most vital areas because you have to remember that there are kids on the beach. In many cases there is a list of what beachgoers can and cannot wear on the beach. Choose a swimsuit that fits best will work just fine. A great accessory to wear on the beach are sarongs, these are beautiful wraps that wrap around your waist. They come in many great colors and styles.

Another fashion beachwear etiquette is dress according to your own age. There are some women out there that believe that they look good in a two-piece suit but many times they aren't appropriate. There is nothing to say that women of a certain age should not wear a two-piece but make sure that it is age appropriate and stay away from thongs on the beach if you are over a certain age. If you are over 40 and you look like you have the body of a 20 year old like Jennifer Aniston then by all means wear the two piece but in the event that you aren't sure, ask for some friend's opinion and they will let you know if you should be rockin the bikini over 40 years old.

The same premise goes to men, if you are not in the best shape of your life then maybe the Speedo should go into storage, there is just something that should be left at home. A pair of swim trunks should do nicely at any age and you don't have a chance to offend anyone either. Since they do not make sarongs for men, the swim trunks that come down to the knees or so are perfect. Beachwear etiquette is very simple to follow, it is like dressing for any place else, you want to look great but be mindful of the people around you. Keep it clean and keep it PG.

If you really want to show off what you have then do a Google search on where the nude beaches are. There is no need for beachwear etiquette anywhere on a nude beach. There are so many great one and two piece bathing suits that would look great on you, that there is no reason why you cannot keep up with beachwear etiquette. You would want someone to dress as to not offend you so offer the same courtesy.
